Itinerary

After your breakfast you will be picked up by your guide and drive to Alexandria in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, it takes 3 hours more or less to be there. Your first stop will be the mysterious cemetery of KOM EL SHOUKAFA known as catacombs, the hugest burial site of the Roman ages. holes and chambers hacked in the ground. Maybe one of the little examples of the hallmark fusion between the pharaonic and greek-roman styles. Nearby you will find the remains of the principal Temple of Alexandria in the greek-roman era, which was dedicated to God SERAPES. In the same place another famous postcard of Alexandria the Pompey pillar with more than 27 meters high it still the highest column in Egypt. Your next stop will be in the fortress of Sultan Qaitbay, built in the same location of the lighthouse considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and was destroyed by an earthquake in the 1° century BC. From the fortress, you can enjoy the best view of the whole city. Now will be the last stop and a remarkable visit to the reincarnated bibliotheca Alexandrina, with here ultra-modern disc-shaped building trying to reach some of the glory of the ancient one. Drive back to your hotel in Cairo. End of our program.
